No place and no one is perfect but love is blind. And we are in total love with Oblu Select Lobigili

The food was excellent, and the service was exceptional. We liked the different variety of foods. I am not vegetarian but I got to try some new dishes I never thought of before. I especially liked how the wait staff made sure we like the food. If there was something we didn't like, they instantly replaced it with something else.

We didn't like the gift store didn't have merchandise from the hotel, only for Maldives. We didn't see any shirts or souvenirs for Lobigili.

Unforgettable

My stay at the oblu Lobigili resort was wonderful. The place is nice and clean and has many daily activities. Your staff are friendly and contributed to making our stay unforgettable. I would also like to thank Michelle, who was with us throughout our stay and helped us a lot.

Splendid romantic holiday, lovely accommodation, excellent food, unlimited booze & great staff

From the moment we were met at the airport, everything was awesome. The speed boat was clean. The welcome staff were amazing - saxophone and champagne on arrival. Almost all resort staff were terrific aiming to please wherever possible. Food was truly a five star experience with no limit on what you can eat. So many choices and the Chefs are ready to make you whatever you ask for (special mention to the Indian corner). Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were unlimited with a wide selection of premium drinks. The room minibar was plentiful and replenished once daily. Water villa with pool was amazing. Everything in the room worked. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The arranged activities (fishing and sunset cruise) were well organized and fun! Restaurant staff were outstanding. Didn't manage to get all names but special thanks to Rachelle, Jenny, Novita, Gayathri, Sapna, Samira, Sandhu, Nikhil, Chef Gadee, Ritika and Dolmaya (Security). They made our stay truly memorable with their excellent service and attention. Would love to return someday!

Being a new resort, they need to add plants and vegetation. The recreation center motorized sport and excursions are exorbitantly priced.

What is not to like about Oblu Select Lobigili?

When we travel, we want to discover the world and see as much as possible of our travel destination. We never stay at one hotel and we don't care much about the hotel selection. That is completely different in the Maldives: your hotel is your travel destination. The selection of the hotel is very important and I did a lot of research. Oblu Select has very good reviews but we were scared about the potential downsides or hidden flaws. Well...We could not find any! This hotel is THE best. We loved our stay. It was beyond our expectations and we didn't notice points of improvement. We had a water villa with pool and the room was so pretty. Just amazing! The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I have never experienced something like that. Our host Mayrem was the sweetest. She was always there for us and helped us with whatever request we had. At the same time, she kept enough distance to respect our privacy. Every staff member was so sweet, helpful, respectful and caring. But without being pushy or indiscreet. The food was delicious and has the highest quality. There was enough variety: buffet, à la carte, live cooking and different restaurants. Eating at Oblu Select is an experience in itself. The underwater restaurant was a very special experience! It was great! We also recommend the floating breakfast and private movie night. The spa facilities are top notch. So professional and beautiful at the same time. I love the fact that this hotel is small-scale and has quiet/discreet/respectful quests. It never felt crowded. You can truly relax at this hotel because it avoids all 'party elements': no loud music, no club, no nightly events...Loud music and parties would be contradictory to the peaceful vibes of this hotel and island. If you realy need loud music or a party, you can visit the other island (connected by a bridge). The fact that this hotel is 'Adult Only' makes a huge different as well. No crying, no screaming, no tantrums.

Drop-off at the airport is way too early. We left the resort at 7am and our flight was at 10.25am. We needed 1 hour and 15 minutes to get on our plane. Don't waste your time at the airport. Enjoy your final moments at the hotel. The airport is total chaos because everybody is dropped off waaaay too early (3,4 or more hours) and they all get into the same line. Which is the worst scenario (logistically), does not make any sense and creates chaos. Don't be a part of it.

A fabulous resort at an affordable price

- Beautiful overwater villa. - Great food - in particular we loved the a’la carte Indian and Thai dinners at the main restaurant but the Gaadiya food truck and the underwater restaurant were also fantastic. - The service was absolutely top notch (special thanks to our host Sara who was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure that the stay was perfect). - An amazing spa - we never felt so relaxed after a massage (the hot stone massage was superb) - The all-inclusive wine list is very impressive with some seriously good selection from around the world. - Great Bloody Marys (or Red Snappers as they call them there) at the pool bar! - Finally, a great atmosphere- it was our first time at an adults-only resort and certainly not out last! - Overall a great experience for half the price that you would pay at other all-inclusive resorts in the Maldives.

The beach is not that great (this is a new man-made island). The reef around the island is rather averages so for some better snorkeling sites you need to take a boat. Be aware that due to proximity to Male you can see some of the high-rise buildings on the island.

Relaxed stay

Adult only resort with nice villas. No scream from kids which was very much needed for a relaxed vacation. The staffs were very kind and helpful. The transfer from Male was simple and easy. The food was tasty and had variation.

Due to its small size, a lot of the amenity is on the neighboring resort, which was not as nice. The breakfast started to get a bit repetitive after some days. The view from the villa was facing the other resort, not 'big open ocean'.
